Go2Africa is a leading Africa-based tour operator, trusted by travellers for over 25 years to design journeys that are seamless, personal, and deeply connected to the African continent. We are looking for an SA/SQ Team Leader to join our team.

 

The role

The SA/SQ Team Leader provides mentorship, training, and daily support to new starters, while delivering continuous training to existing Sales Administrators and Sales Qualification team members. They ensure standardized training is offered to all new team members and support the rollout of new processes. The role involves providing daily support to the SA/SQ teams, including assistance with supplier queries, deferrals, and cancellations. In addition, the SA/SQ Team Leader takes on ad hoc projects and duties as required to maintain team efficiency and performance.

 

Functional Responsibilities

Provide mentorship and training to new starters, and continuous training to the existing Sales Administrators & SQ Team

  • Ensure standardised training is offered to all new Sales Administrators.

  • Develop new training material and keep all training material up to date.

  • Mentor and assist new starters with daily tasks until they are confident in their role.

  • Assist and check audits of new starters and ensure all is 100% before it is sent to the EQ or invoiced.

  • Provide constant feedback to new starters and ensure problem areas are worked on.

  • Continuous coaching of new members.

  • Provide daily support to the Sales Administrator and SQ team.

  • Ensure all new processes are rolled out and trained on, so the team knows what is expected of them.

  • Any training gaps that are identified should be retrained to ensure a high standard of work is upheld by every member of the team.

 

Daily assistance and support to the SA/SQ Team

  • Assist with deferrals and cancellations, where team members require support.

  • Provide support and coaching on communicating with a supplier in tricky/challenging rate conversations.

  • Assist with understanding of rate sheets, where required.

  • Assist team with investigating rate discrepancies where needed and escalate to the Support Team Manager where necessary.

  • Ensure Client folders are ready and up to date on time so that the Travel Administration Team can complete the Reconfirmation Process timeously. 

 

Ad Hoc duties

  • Assist with ad hoc projects/tasks run in the Operations Team where necessary.

  • Identify areas of improvement on Baz and flag these with the Support Team Manager.

  • Identify areas in the SA /SQ process that are challenging and can be improved, and flag these with the Support Team Manager.

  • Approval of Sales Administrator shift changes.

Note:

  • As a Team Leader, you will be aligned to one Africa Safari Expert and fulfil SA/SQ duties. This is to ensure that you stay relevant within the role.

Job requirements

Experience

Essential

  • 1+ years’ experience in building itineraries and quoting.

 

Desirable

  • 1-2 years of leadership experience.

 

Qualifications

Desirable

  • Diploma/degree in travel and tourism or a relevant field.
